The Day I Became a God Episode 8 Review
‘The Day of Trip to the Beach’ was an episode of major revelations. Since last episode we got to know to there is something more to Hina’s story than is currently shown to us.
- Our Great Odin-sama has a Grandfather
Hina has a dream about her grandfather, hinting her life
before she became a god. The title of the series ‘The Day I Became a God’ might
actually be meant for Hina all along. This was a brilliant way to use that as a
title and confuse the audience for the first half of the series. Youta’s
parents knew about the grandfather which was their mentor, and who Hina
actually was. This explains why they were so quick to allow Hina to stay at
their place.
Youta decides to take Hina to her father who had got remarried.
Even amongst all this, the writer keeps the comedy element of the series
intact. Hina being in her cute and innocent yet arrogantly being in her
character as a god is always pleasing to watch. All the characters in this
series add their own way of comedy element that keeps the audience entertained.
- Hina’s life before her father moved out
Her father tells Youta that Hina was supposed to have a
disease called the Logos Syndrome that didn’t have any cure. He ran away from
his responsibilities to start a new family failing his role as a father. His
refusal to want any relation with her now that she’s all well, makes Youta
angry.
Youta’s life has changed since he has met this annoying girl
who claims to be a god. He has made many friends since then and also made an
attempt to confess her love to his childhood crush. Over the summer taking part
in various events that occurred because of Hina, Youta has gotten used to her
being with him, and struggles at the thought that she might have to leave in
the future.
- Conclusion
There are 4 days remaining till the end of the world
according to Hina’s theory. This episode was very interesting and entertaining
as well. I feel the end of the series can make me emotional. As Hiroto Suzuki,
the hacker gets close to Hina’s whereabouts, it will be intriguing to see what
this story unfolds.
